For He's a Jolly Good Fellow

What to give the man who has everything?

We're not regular Mad Men viewers, but know enough about the show and the era to feel sure this is just the kind of clever gift* Don Draper might receive from the secretarial pool.

*Purchased for 25¢ at the Presbyterian Church Women's thrift sale. Neatly folded vintage birthday wrapping paper included. If you inadvertently donated it and now want it back you're out of luck. It has been officially archived in the NDL Museum of Kitsch where it will remain forever more (or until needed for the perfect white elephant gift).

Wow! What a great find, that's too funny!

I imagine the Presbyterian who donated this was picturing the day when such kitsch would be discovered in a closet or drawer at their estate sale. Horrors! Best secret it away now and let the thrift sale mavens decide if it was too scandalous to sell.

Now, how bout a picture of the vintage wrapping paper?? This person, I'm guessing, received the gift and kept the paper for future re-gifting? Or purchased the gift and was so organized they matched it with suitable paper immediately. Love it.

I really ought to shop that sale rather than just donating to it! Great finds Laura!
